I also can't stop the npc's from looting ranged weapons. This includes people like PrestonВ and certain mission npc's. Some people are very attached to their weapons, even though I'veВ removed the weapon from theirВ inventory. If a quest is broken because an npc needs a specific weapon, let me know in the posts. (but not ammo incase you'reВ still using a gun for some reason). I've also emptied most of the containers of ranged weapons. This includes raiders, minutemen, railroad, super mutants, BoS etc. So far everyone that I could change weapons for has been changed, including special ranged weapons.
